  The Tiger
The largest cat and one of the most powerful land carnivores in the world (exceeded in strength but not speed by the Kodiak bear), the tiger is a massively built cat of awesome size and power, with some exceptional individuals reaching 800 pounds. Its distinctive coat is white to orange-brown with black, brown, or grey stripes. Its small round ears have black backs with a central white spot. The males of some subspecies sport side whiskers.
The tiger may be found in all types of terrain of southern and south- eastern Asia and of eastern Asia northward to Mongolia and Siberia, where it hunts by night, from the ground, and seeks game of all types. It is an excellent swimmer. The tiger is the only truly striped cat, with a completely non-agouti coat. All other striped cats are tabbies.

  Wolf Statistics
HOW FAST CAN A WOLF RUN?
The speed of a wolf is between 7.5 to 26 miles per hour. a wolf can reach the speeds of 37 miles per hour in short distances.
HOW LARGE ARE WOLVES?
Wolves in different areas can vary in size For example up in the Northwest Territories a wolf can weigh up to 175 pounds and in Algonquin A wolf ( Algonquin Timber Wolf) will reach at least 60 pounds.
WHY DO WOLVES HOWL?
Wolves howl in order to communicate with other wolves. Different intonations mean different things. The Alpha wolf, or pack leader will howl to call together members of his pack. Wolves will also howl to discover the locations of other packs.
Howling can also serve as a territorial declaration. When wolves hear a howl of a strange wolf ( They will consider a Dog as a strange wolf) They will howl as if to tell them to "BACK OFF".
WILL WOLVES HOWL IF I HOWL?
A few Parks offer Wolf Howling trips 2 such parks are Algonquin park and the International Wolf Center in Ely Minnesota.
Some times A wolf will howl When people howl Because they view us as a strange pack or wolf. I have howled with the two red wolves (canis rufus) located at the National Zoo in Washington, DC. It was an unforgettable experience.
IS THE BIG BAD WOLF THEORY TRUE?
NO! Wolves are shy, intelligent animals and for the most part avoid people. There has never been a single recorded incident of a healthy wild wolf killing a human in North America. In Minnesota, Wyoming, and Idaho, wolves continue to avoid interaction with people as much as possible. Indian wolves have less secure futures. In India, problems of rampant deforestation and eradication of prey, compounded by the renewed antagonism of man against wolf, has resulted in the illegal slaying of hundreds of wolves. Today there may be no more than 2,000 wolves remaining on the Indian subcontinent, fewer then there are tigers. Unless the wolf's protected status is rigidly enforced, proof of their existence may soon be difficult to find. As far as the three little pigs go...the lousy little pigs set the poor wolf up!
DO WOLVES MAKE GOOD PETS?
NO: Wolves are wild animals and should stay that way...dogs are the domesticated cousins of wolves. Dogs make the best pets. (much better then cats, I might add).
WHAT IS A WOLF PACK?
A pack is basically a family made up of 2 mated wolves( Alpha Male and Alpha Female) and their offspring. All the wolves in the
pack help raise the young. Often, a young wolf will leave the pack when old enough, and under the right conditions in order to find a mate, his own territory and form his own pack. Wolves are very familial. The pack bond is one of loyalty and caring. See the descriptions of the wolves in the Sawtooth pack on the referring page to learn more about pack hierarchy and structure.

Gorillas are by far the largest of all primates. They inhabit the humid equatorial regions of Africa and are predominant forest dwellers. They spend a good deal of their time on the ground, where their major form of locomotion is knuckle walking. Gorillas live in single male/multi female troups, or harems, in which a male has permanent relationships with a group of females and excludes rival males. This social structure has encouraged an extreme form of sexual dimorphism because of the premium placed on male size and strength in competition for females.
